Have your teeth 6-7 shades whiter to have a brilliant smile! At Madenta Dental Clinic we provide in office whitening and at home whitening.
White teeth have always been a common dream. But only a few one are given such a dreamlike smile by nature. However modern dentistry can lend nature a hand. During bleaching alighter colour of teeth becomes visible through embedding of oxygen form the bleaching gel. For a long time bleaching is an acknowledged technique that is routinely practised to remove dental discolorations that can be provoked by developmental disorders, diseases or degenerative changes. Nowadays, however, bleaching is practised due to pure cosmetic reasons. Bleaching belongs to the fix element of cosmetic dentistry.
Modern belaching techniques make it possible to whiten teeth in a mild and harmless way…. Before Bleaching the soundness of teeth and gingival must be checked and fixed. This is why an exact discovery and a professional tooth cleaning is obligatorybefore the treatment. Generally two alternatives are distinguished in case of bleaching, namely Home Bleaching and In Office Bleaching.
ZOOM is a scientifically developed method to whiten your teeth. Safe, effective and fast – very fast! Your teeth will become much whiter in barely more than an hour. Its hydrogen-peroxide content was reduced to 6% in compliance with EU regulations; however its effectiveness has not changed. This system gives a solution to whiten yellowish teeth and to eliminate discolouration caused by smoking, coffee and tea. ZOOM is an ideal way to whiten your teeth if you want immediate results. With those patients who cannot use the splint, or want to get faster results, whitening can also be performed at the surgery. First of all, teeth must be cleansed thoroughly, then the actual whitening process can begin. The sensitive gum is guarded by a special protective layer. Then the concentrate whitening gel is visibly applied on all the teeth. The next step is when the gel is exposed to a special ZOOM lamp and after an activation period of 15 minutes the gel is washed off. For optimal results the process is repeated several times. The treatment lasts 1,5-2 hours.
Before the first Bleaching session the teeth have to be cleaned professionally and the existing fillings and restorations must be checked, then a precise impression of your teeth is made. During your next appointment you receive a dental splint made by our technician with a magnificent wearing comfort to optimise the effect of the Bleaching Process. The fit of the splints is tested in practise and then we exactly explain to you how to use the materials and what else you have to respect accurately. Also your tooth colour is registered in order to trace the results.
After the tooth cleaning in the evenings, fill especially the exterior surfaces of the inner side of the splint with gel and apply the splint to the teeth. You remove the possible surplus with a paper towelor a cotton ball. After you have applied the splint you should noteat or drink until removing the splint and the gel.. After app. 8 hours of sleep (or in the morning) you remove the splint and brush your teethnormally. After cleaned with cool water the splint has to be kept in it’sbox. It is advised to repeat this application every second or third day until the desired effectis reached.
According to our experience after 1-2 treaments you can achieve spectacular results with this type of whitening method. You can whiten 6-7 shades on the Whitening chart. As a result it can be claimed that nowadays this is the most efficient bleaching treatment on the market.
To whom do we suggest at-home whitening?
To patients who are in good state of health and do not suffer from periodontal disease
To whom we do not suggest whitening:
During the treatment you have to avoid citrus fruits and fruit juices, for they can convey sensitivities. You also need to minimise the consumption of coffee, tea, red wine and coloureddrinks to prevent discolorations. More gel does not lead to faster results, but conveys sensitivity.
In order to maintain the result of bleaching you should take the following pieces of advice in the next 48 hours:
In several studies not only the efficiency but also the innoxiousness of bleaching was proved. During bleaching neither the dental enamel, dentin nor intact restorations are offended. The natural dental substance is conserved. In some cases a temporary oversensitivity of the teeth or light irritations of the gingiva can occur but they fade away after a short time. The treatment can be repeated as often as you wish without problems of the teeth and the gingiva. In case of good oral hygiene and regular professional cleaning the result is visible for a long time – often over several years.
There are a lot of reasons for this. The most frequent is genetically darker enamel, isageing of teeth, discolouring effect of food and beverages (e.g. tea, red wine, coffee, coke, tobacco), injuries, antibiotics, strong fluorides, regression of nerves etc.
Bleaching works, irrespectively of age for all persons. The maximal and fastest bleaching can be observed in case of slightly coloured teeth. Dark coloured spots – for instance caused by tea, red wine, smoking etc. – mostly take a little longer to respond to the bleaching. Single teeth can be bleached by partial application of the gel in the splint. The degree of bleaching varies from person to person – depending on the condition of the teeth and the duration of the adaptation.
Crowns, bridges, Inlays, synthetic or amalgam fillings can not be bleached.
Tooth bleaching only works for natural dental substance. This is why it is important that you at first perform the tooth bleaching and then you perhaps deal with required restorations. Like this you can enhance the treatment positively with the prospect to a “perfect smile”.
The darkening of the teeth basically depends on how heavy is the effect of discolouring agents, and how dark is the original tooth color. A factor that should notbe underestimated is the regular cleaning of the teeth (professional cleaning) which does not only have a positive effect on the duration of the bleaching result but causes also a provision for the health maintenance of the periodontal apparatus. On average depending on lifestyle the result persists between 1-4 years.
Whitening materials do not damage teeth. Nevertheless certain side effects may occur teeth may become sensitive during treatment, or gingivitis may develop. In this case the treatment must be suspended until complaints are over. Such intervals of 1-2 days do not have any influence on the treatment.
